A PAIR OF IRANIAN SILVER POSY VASES
Isfahan, Iran, ca. 1940 - 1960
Each of inverted pyriform shape, resting on a gently stepped circular foot, rising to a cylindrical neck with an everted, scalloped and frilled rim, the exterior engraved and chased in relief with typical motifs of mid-20th-century Iranian silver production including lobed medallions with figures from banqueting scenes like table servants and cup-bearers (saqi), lush sprays of rosettes and lotus flowers, and vegetal stems, unmarked, each 22.5cm high.
