A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE YELLOW-GROUND 'BIRTHDAY' CUP AND SAUCER. Qing Dynasty, early 20th Century. The saucer painted with the central shou character with four roundels inscribed wan, shou, wu, jiang, 'boundless longevity', all against a lemon-yellow ground with cloud scrolls and fylfots, the cup mirroring the design, six character Guangxu marks to the bases, the saucer 14cm diameter.
