A SOUTH ARABIAN ALABASTER HEAD OF A MAN, CIRCA 1ST CENTURY B.C.- 1ST CENTURY A.D. the broad spade-shaped face with a prominent nose and thick overhanging brow, incised almond-shaped eyes with articulated pupils, the straight mouth with full lips, the long neck tapering slightly, the back of the head and neck roughly finished, likely once set into a niche, 17cm high

Provenance: A Private Collection of a Diplomat, 1970s

Auction Comparable: Christies, New York, 6th June 2013, Antiquities Sale, Lot 694, a piece compariable in size with very similar features, Sold for $7,500
