A George V sterling silver replica ‘Winchester Bushel’ bowl, London 1927 by Edward Barnard and Sons
Modelled after the Tudor bronze original, tapering cylindrical form with twin handles raised upon three short feet, textured decoration with applied Tudor rose, portcullis, anchor, and dog along with phrase 'Henricus Ceptimus dei Gracia Rex Dauglae et Francie' (Henry VII, by Grace of God, King of England and France). Engraved with a presentation inscription the reverse side reading “Worthing Gold Club, Captain’s Prize 1928 Presented by Haydon P. Roberts”. Fully marked underneath.

This is based on a Winchester Bushel volume measure which was one of a series issued to 60 cities in England during the reign of Henry VII between 1497 and 1509. Winchester at the time being the administrative centre of England.
