A set of four George III sterling silver candlesticks, London 1765 by Ebenezeer Coker
Each of hexalobed form with six splayed shell to the base, rising to a knopped and inverted baluster columns with shell sections, circular capitals with removable six-shell sconces. Engraved to two of the sconce bezels as follows; “No 1 46 oz = 5 dwt” and “No 2 46 ozt = 13 dwt”, with corresponding number to the edge of capitals, the other two sconces with 1* and 2* respectively and to the corresponding edge of capitals. Each fully marked underneath, a lion passant and maker’s mark to each sconce, a lion passant and maker’s mark to one capital, two with lion passant only, one with maker’s mark only. (4)
