An Uncommon, 2-Part Richard Taxiphote Stereo Viewer with approx 140 3D Slides.

2-Part Richard Taxiphote Stereo Viewer with approx 140 3D Slides. An uncommon "Simplified Model" Taxiphote viewer dating from around 1908, in full working order. Comprising 2 separate parts, the lower section containing 9 cassettes with a total of around 140 stereo pairs. Mostly Egypt with local scenes, bustling markets and inhabitants, etc. Also images from the UK featuring a well-off Edwardian family, house, grounds, a fox hunting scene etc. Also 2 images of a bi-plane G-EBUT (a Fokker F.XI) and one of the Embankment, London, probably next to Westminister Bridge. Several slides with a center caption, which is revealed by operating the side-mounted lever when the slide is being viewed. A few slides with chipped and/or broken edges not included in approx count.
