A rare set of four mid-19th century Indian colonial silver cruets, Bombay circa 1850 by George Regel and Co (active 1844-52)
Each of lobed baluster form upon a shaped pedestal base, the cast rims formed as fruiting vine, with pull off domed drill pierced lids surmounted by ball finials. The body with embossed and chased decoration of flower heads reserved in stylised leaves. Two engraved for salt, one for pepper, one for cayenne. Each marked to the foot GR&Co, and with an X mark as well as a tally mark. (4)
