A GLAZED FRITWARE CERAMIC OIL BURNER/LAMP
Mumluk or Syria, possibly Raqqa, 13th Century or later

Of pyriform shape atop a raised lip base and with elongated beak and attached handle, with narrow neck and flared rim. These lamps were designed to be carried. Grazed cartouche on the sides of the main body of the vessel decorated with crosses. 23.5cm high
