AN OMANI JAMBIYA DAGGER WITH ITS BELT
Oman, late 19th - early 20th century

The dagger with a curved double-edged steel blade and T-shaped silver and horn handle, the wooden sheath lined in green velvet and covered in silver sheets with floral motifs and fretwork bands, the woven polychrome cotton belt still attached to the sheath through two large silver rings and retaining part of the original metal thread embroidery, the dagger 24.5cm long excluding the sheath and the belt 40cm long.
