A George II sterling silver coffee pot, London 1734 by Richard Burcombe (reg. 10th Feb 1724)
Of tapering cylindrical form with a domed moulded foot, the curved panelled spout with a teardrop junction opposite a carved wooden double C scroll handle pinned to tubular sockets, leading to a hinged domed lid surmounted by a bell form finial. The side engraved with a coat of arms with the cadency mark of a second son, surmounted by a crest a dragon’s head couped ducally gorged, all within foliate scrolls and Baroque strap work. Fully marked underneath and the lid with a lion passant only to the interior.
