CIRCLE OF HENDRICK VAN STEENWIJCK THE ELDER (DUTCH 1550 - 1603) An imaginary view of the interior of Antwerp cathedral Oil on panel 31 x 46cm (12 1/4 x 18in) Upon inspection of photographs, Dr Fred Meijer considers that the present panel, dating from the early 1600s, is a period copy after a finished version of the painting by Hendrick van Steenwijck the Elder. There are autograph versions to be found in the collection of Belton House near Grantham, Lincolnshire, the Koninklijke Musea voor Schone Kunsten, Ghent, and the Museum Catharijneconvent, Utrecht. There are two red wax stamps on the reverse of the panel.
