AN HISPANO-MORESQUE IVORY, BONE AND COLOURED WOODS-INLAID SECRETAIRE TABLE France or Italy, late 19th - 20th century A compact table of square shape when closed, turning into a rectangular secretaire when open, the exterior body decorated with fine ivory, bone and coloured woods marquetry work embellished with Hispano-Moresque motifs such as geometrical patterns, octagonal stars, intertwined calligraphic cartouches and bi-chromatic fretwork bands, the interior similar with a static stationary case with four compartments and small drawers, two inkwells to the front, the green velvet panel removable, with a large drawer underneath, 85.5cm x 116cm x 58cm when open.
