A LARGE PALESTINIAN IZNIK-STYLE POTTERY BOWL
Jerusalem, Holy Land, Armenian potters, early 20th century
Of deep rounded shape, resting on a short straight foot, underglaze painted in cobalt blue, turquoise, red, yellow and green, with black outlines and all on a white ground, the decoration derivative of Iznik pottery wares and featuring a central medallion with a rosette featured on a bed of saz leaves, surrounded by concentric bands of lush scrolling stems of carnations, lotuses and rosettes, the outside of the bowl with the same motifs, the underside plain, 34cm diam.
