An early 20th century Chinese export silver small vase, Shanghai circa 1920, marked He Chan, retailed by Luen Hing
Republic period. Of rounded form with a tall tapering neck, the body with chased decoration of bamboo leaves. Marked underneath with artisan mark 合昌 (HE CHAN), and retailer’s mark LH. Together with a pepper pot, Jiujiang circa 1920 by Tu Qing Yun, of tapering hexagonal form, with a pull off lid the neck engraved with a meander scroll, the body with chased alternating panels of foliage and characters 吉祥如意 (Jixiang Ruyi | good fortune as one wishes), marked underneath 涂慶芸 (TU QING YUN).
