A LARGE JAPANESE KUTANI DOUBLE GOURD VASE.
Meiji period, circa 1890.
The tall body formed in two sections, lavishly decorated in enamels and gilt with panels of musicians, birds and flowers and variously shaped fans on a ground of brocade patterns and stylised floral scrolls, a six character Yamanobu mark to the base, 76cm H.
Provenance: a private Yorkshire collection since the 1930s and thence by descent to the present owner.
