An unusual mid-Victorian antique sterling silver four-piece tea service, Birmingham 1866 by Elkington & Co In the aesthetic style, comprising a teapot, coffee pot, milk jug and twin handled sugar bowl. Each of compressed globular form on a single spreading foot and with loop handle. Decorated throughout with engraved bands of rosettes and arches of trefoils, beaded edges throughout. The teapot and coffee pot with ivory insulators and wooden finials. Gilt interior to milk jug and sugar bowl, each engraved with monogram in gothic script FHW. Fully marked underneath and part-marked to lids. (4) Coffee pot Height – 22.5 cm / 8.75 inches Total weight – 2552 grams / 82.05 ozt
