A NAVRATNA NINE GEM-SET NECKLACE PENDANT
Possibly Jaipur, Rajasthan, North-Western India, first half 20th century
In the shape of a stylised openwork rosette with cusped petals, set with a central circular-cut ruby, to a multi-gem vari-cut surround including polki diamonds, a pearl, a coral, a hessonite, a sapphire, a cat's eye, a yellow sapphire, and an emerald, following the traditional arrangement of Indian navratna jewellery pieces respectant of ancient Hindu astrological charts, strung on a twisted cotton string, the pendant 4.8cm long, the cord 76cm long.
The item has been XRF tested and found to be 20ct gold
