A mid-20th century Persian (Iranian) silver cocktail shaker, Isfahan circa 1960
Pahlavi dynasty, the three-section shaker of tapering cylindrical form, with domed lid and removable cap, the interior with a drill pierced filter. The shaker body with engraved ghalam zani decoration of a shaped cartouches of arabesques, reserved foliate scrolls, interspaced with cartouches of peonies against a matted ground, the lid similarly decorated with peony cartouches reserved within scroll work against a matted ground. Together with five tots, two pairs and a single, the single circa 1940 with engraved decoration of birds and foliage (gol-o-bolbol) reserved in architraves. The cocktail shaker marked underneath with a partially obscured workshop mark and standard mark (۸۴), the single tot with workshop mark and standard mark (۸۴), same for one pair of tots, the other pair unmarked.
