A George III sterling silver teapot, London 1783 by Robert Hennell I (reg. 30th May 1772)
Of shaped oval form, with a tubular spout opposite a wooden C scroll handle pinned to sockets, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable wooden finial. The body with bright cut engraved decoration of foliate scrolls and pendant swags, each side with a vacant shield shape cartouche all below a foliate scroll border. Fully marked underneath, lion passant only to lid.
