Both figures finely carved from stone of a pale celadon tone, modelled in relaxed seated positions with long flowing robes decorated with incised and gilt-painted clouds and classic scroll patterns, one Luohan holding a fly whisk in his right hand, the other holding a small alms bowl, both faces carved with serene expressions, the figures sat atop naturalistically-carved red soapstone bases,
