A George III sterling silver inkstand, London 1798 by Burridge Davenport
Of oval form upon four ball and claw feet, with slat pierced galleried edge and beaded rims., fitted with three detachable circular supports for three clear glass bottles of inkwell and sander, two with silver lids the sander with Old Sheffield Plate lid. The engraved with initials J.C in gothic script encircles in a motto Disc Pati all surmounted by an Earl’s coronet. Fully marked underneath.
