A George III sterling silver sugar caster, London 1765 by John Delmester
of inverted baluster form upon a domed foot, gadrooned rims throughout. A pull off domed lid surmounted by a wrythen finial. The lid with drill pierced decoration, quatrefoils and scrolls, heightened with engraved decoration. Engraved with a crest of a hand holding a shepherd's crook. The obverse later engraved with a crest of stag, supporting with the dexter foot an escutcheon, with the motto below esse quam videri. Fully marked underneath, the lid with maker’s marks and lion passant only.
