Interesting manuscript document in Italian on a Bettino da Gragnano hospitalised in the Hospital of Mercy by order of Ranieri Contarini, translation reading in part "(Bettino) despite his suit and ... beard was recognised as being more woman than man". After his death, which took place on May 5, 1650: «(...) with anatomical curiosity his body was recognized in the presence of the rector of the hospital, the exterior of its pudendal parts had the slightest appearance neither of the one nor of the other sex, being completely the same, without hair .. under the lower belly the uterus was found with its suspensors, non-spermatic testicles", the letter also including a description of the autopsy and examination of the various organs, one page, integral blank, age-related toning, some splitting to main fold, chipping to margins, 4to, early 17th century.
