Multan or Sindh, Pakistan, mid to late 19th century

Of large rectangular shape, underglaze painted in cobalt blue and turquoise on a white ground, with a central lobed medallion inscribed with the Sura al-Ikhlas (112) in a stylised intertwined thuluth script producing a star-shaped geometric motif in the middle, framed within a cusped and lobed arch with foliage on turquoise ground, rosette bouquets in the upper section, 31.5cm x 28.4cm.
