Ferrere (Claude)

Ferrere (Claude)

Autograph letter signed ('Claude Ferrere'), in French, reading in part "I know very well that after the recent Beauplan incident on the Liberte', it is common practive that the press marks former contributors of a newspaper as discharged servants. But I was far from expecting what I just read on Comoedia about Binet-Valmer. I even thought that our last conversation with Alphons and Gregorio at Comoedie reassured me personally against such a regrettable occurrence. Que Reboux, whom I have always considered the best educated man, allowed himself such a lack of tact, the political passion...is there to excuse him. But that Comoedie, which is not a political commentator, let this article pass, no! ...I will be happy to read a note by which Comoedia would release itself from all responsibilty for an article involving only the one who signed it and would grant to its former collaborators the defence and the gratititude that the Liberte' has just granted to M. de Beauplan", four pages, folding marks, light creasing, pin holes to top left corners, 4to, 32 Rue de Vignes, 18 October 1922.

Estimated at £150 - £200
