A George III provincial sterling silver mustard pot, Newcastle circa 1790 by John Langlands I and John Robertson I (active 1778 to 1795)
Of oval form with beaded rims, a moulded C scroll handle leading to a domed hinged lid raised by an openwork chair back thumbpiece. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Marked underneath, lion passant and duty mark to the lid.
