A George II Scottish silver kettle stand or salver, Edinburgh 1744 by James Weems
Of shaped square form with re-entrant corners, a cavetto edge, and a moulded rim, all raised upon four pad feet. The field centre with an contemporaneous engraved coat of arms within asymmetrical C scroll cartouche with rocaille and foliage, all surmounted by a crest of a lion rampant holding a cross. The edge of the field with flat chased decoration of C scroll and rocaille with bouquets of fruit and foliage. The edge of the underside engraved with initials T MK in Roman script. Fully marked to the reverse, assayer Hugh Gordon.

however not this crest, the presence of the initials suggests these arms may have been used by another family.
