A 19th century gold and mother of pearl portrait set snuff box, with imitation marks for Paris 1740-42 and Etienne Trenel Struck with imitation charge and discharge mark for Louis Robin. Of rectangular form with six panels of mother of pearl engraved with foliate scrolls and latticework. The lid inset with an oval portrait miniature of a man in blue and red attire School of Christian Friedrich Zincke (b. 1683 Dresden – d. 1767, London). The mounts of wavy cage work with shaped thumbpiece, gold lined interior. Marked to the base, lid and external mounts.  Length – 8.4 cm / 3.25 inches
