A George III Irish provincial sterling silver dessert spoon, Limerick circa 1780 by Patrick Connell
Of bright cut plume Celtic point pattern, with single drop heel, the terminal engraved with initials C over M L. The reverse engraved with a later crest of a bone and a palm-branch in saltier. Marked to the stem with maker’s mark P.C in an oval punch.
Length – 17.2 cm / 6.75 inches
Weight – 21 grams / 0.68 ozt
The crest is for Baines, Bone, Dempster, Gall, Hodkinson and Small.
