A mid-20^th century Sudanese silver tobacco box, Omdurman dated 1942

Of cylindrical form with a pull off lid, the interior with a lift out dished ash tray. The lid with flat chased decoration of stylised border of scroll forms with eyelets. The lid centre with a textured boss chased in Arabic with the maker, Nazar Mubarak, Omdurman أم درمان‎ and the date ١٩٤٢.
