Black ink on stained wove rice paper, featuring several stylised bold Sini calligraphic inscriptions with religious invocations and praises to Allah and the Prophet, flanked by a line of undeciphered black cursive Chinese inscription on each side, with three Chinese seals in red, one seal on the lower left reading Baobei (treasure) and the upper right seal with the maker's mark She Junyou Yin, the scroll laid on paper and surrounded by a dark blue silk frame with typical Chinese floral motifs, the calligraphic panel 174cm x 45cm, the full scroll 242cm x 53.5cm.

She Junyou is one of the most prominent contemporary Chinese calligraphers specialising in Sini script. Born in 1951 in Baishui, Gansu Province, he is currently one of the Master Calligraphers of the Great Mosque of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. During the latest renovation of the mosque, She Junyou played an instrumental role in the conservation and rebuilding approach by trying to integrate calligraphic Quranic panels into the architectural infrastructure. His works have been exhibited several times in China and around the world since the 1980s, attracting international success and desirability.
