A George IV sterling silver sauce bottle cruet, Sheffield 1824 by Thomas, James and Nathaniel Creswick
The quatre foil shaped stand with a gadrooned and shell scroll rim raised upon four lion paw and rosette scroll bracket feet. The upper section with a galleried frame with lion paw supports rising to a quad-furcated acanthus leaf carrying handle. Fitted with four diamond point cut clear glass bottle with diamond cut stoppers, one of which with a silver gilt cayenne pepper scoop. Fully marked to the edge, part-marked to the edge of frame, the scoop with maker’s mark only.
