Queen Adelaide – A William IV sterling silver gilt Royal ink well, London 1837 by Robert Garrard II (reg. 16th April 1818)

in the Régence style, of bombe oval form upon a collet foot, the lift off foliate scroll and moulded rim with a well section with four pen apertures, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a cast acorn finial. The lobed sections to body and lid with chased panels of either lattices or a harebell against a textured ground. The front with a cast and applied A surmounted by the Royal crown. Fitted with a removable clear glass liner. Fully marked underneath, and part-marked to the lid.
