A William IV sterling silver claret jug or ewer, London 1830 by messrs Barnard
Of fluted lobed form upon a circular base with lobed sections adjoined by a border of sepal leaves. The everted rim formed as sepal leaves leading to a C scroll handle fitted with ivory insulators, the hinged domed lid of conforming shape surmounted by a detachable flower finial with leafy stem. Fully marked to the base and part-marked to the lid, finial and handle, the underside and the handle also incuse stamped 70.
