'SOUVENIRS FROM HAJJ': THREE PAINTED SATIN SILK PANELS WITH THE NAMES OF GOD AND THE PROPHET
Medina, Hijaz, Saudi Arabia, 20th century

Comprising two square panels of brown satin silk and one of purple satin silk, hand-painted and heightened in silver glitter, with a central monumental calligraphic sun burst with the names of Allah and the Prophet Mohammad, surrounded by thirteen calligraphic roundels, signed Abdullah Reza al-Khatat, marked as Souvenir of the City of Medina, the Enlighted, mounted, glazed and framed, the largest panel 57cm x 102cm including the frame, 41cm x 41.5cm excluding the frame.
