Outer ribbon and plain stripes, approx: 5ft. x 3ft.3in.(152cm. x 99cm.) Bold appearance and good colour combination. Early type, mid 19th.century. Design is well drawn. This rug has small damages at one end and side guard stripe. Selvages original, fraying mainly at one onf them. Ends with short fringes, one with original kilim, slightly fraying. The field with slight even wear. Spots of wear town to warps. scattered old repairs. Crude rebounding in couple of places at one side edge. Slightly corroded charcoal-black. Despite imperfections (reflected in an estimate) this rug still retains elegance of the simplicity of design.
