A William IV sterling silver ‘castle top’ snuff box, Birmingham 1836 by William Simpson
Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the hinged lid with a chased foliate scroll thumbpiece. The lid with an engraved Scottish scene of a The Palace of Holyroodhouse, with figures in the foreground. The sides with reeded decoration, the underside with engine turned decoration. Gilt interior. Fully marked.
