1874 Chateau Lafite (2 bottles) - Ullage 1 x Bottom neck, 1 x Mid shoulder, recorked, one sold by Christies label with original cork
1875 Chateau Lafite (2 bottles) - Ullage 2 x top shoulder, Whitwham UK bottling with their labels, recorked in 1977
The 1874 pair look to be in really top condition for a 150 year old wine. The 1875, whilst good levels of ullage are a bit paler, it was a very large vintage and these were UK bottled by the reputable Whitwhams Wines of Altringham. So well worth a try given the good levels. Christopher Burr MW.
From the temperature-controlled cellar of a South of France estate, owned by a distinguished collector of fine and rare mature wines. It is worth noting that the prized damp conditions, ideal for ageing, have led to some label deterioration.
