A RARE RACINE OPEN FACE POCKET WATCH.

Date: late 1700's beginning 1800's
Movement: Verge
Dial: Signed Racine, silvered, black Roman numerals, black outer minute division, blued hands
Case: The reverse with two-colour chased gold decoration of a spray of rose heads and stylised scrolling leaves, with collet set cabochon cut turquoise and collet set circular cut garnets, all against a sablé ground. The edge with a chased border of rosette and twisted ribbon, the hinged glazed face with collet set cabochon turquoise interspersed with chased trailing leaves against a sablé ground. The crown marked with an unidentified assay mark of a bull’s head between numerals 6 and 7. The interior case engraved RACINE, A’GENEVE, NO 917
