A MID-20TH CENTURY PERSIAN (IRANIAN) SILVER CIGARETTE CASE
Isfahan, circa 1950, mark of Mohammad Taqi Zufan (1894-1979)
Pahlavi dynasty, of rectangular form with a push button release. One side with engraved ghalam zani decoration of a spiralling peony scrolls populated with long-tailed birds and cranes, all edged with a rosette and ring punches border. The obverse centred with an arabesque scroll work mandala, reserved with punched foliage, and cornered with arabesques, edged the same. Marked to the interior with a workshop mark and standard mark (۸۴).
