A late 18th century French gold pique work blonde tortoiseshell snuff box, circa 1770
of circular form with pull off lid. The main body with repeating gold pique dots encircled within a guilloche border, the lid with an inset oval painted portrait miniature of a young gentleman in a light green jacket with ribbon-tied hair, glazed. The miniature reserved in an unmarked gold engine turned band.
