A MEISSEN HAUSMALER TEAPOT, circa 1740, the bulbous body with a scroll handle and a hexagonal spout, decorated in the workshop of Franz Ferdinand Meyer of Pressnitz with European landscape scenes, one depicting a group shooting, the other a courting couple flanked by hunting dogs and two attendants playing horns, within elaborate gilt cartouches edged in brown, the shoulder with a further gilt scrollwork border, 9cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, unidentified impressed Dreher’s mark * inside the footrim (cover lacking) PROVENANCE: Private German collection.
