Wembley.- 1924 British Empire Exhibition
A collection of items related to the 1924 British Empire Exhibition held at Wembley Park, London from 23 April to 1 November 1924 and from 9 May to 31 October 1925. The Exhibition was a significant post-war international exhibition. It saw the founding of the current Wembley Stadium and Arena in London. The items are housed in a black plasticA4 ring binder (two-ring) in leather effect, marked with ‘the Post Office’ logotype; items are housed in individual folders and packets, carefully mounted and filed away and annotated.Contents to include: issue of the Empire Exhibition News newspaper of April 1923 (issue no. 3); fold-out map of the site and its transport links plus details of the various pavilions – folds out to 750mm x 505mm, printed both sides, one side full colour; photographs of the building of the towers of Wembley stadium; Architectural brochure “Wembley – the first city of concrete” 34pp + paper covers, 135mm x 215mmblack & white throughout.
