HTEIN LIN (BURMESE, B.1966): A PORTRAIT AUNG SAN SUU KYI oil on canvas, signed 'htein Lin 08 09 2008', 99cm high x 70cm wide Htein Lin spent six and a half years as a political prisoner in Burma from 1998-2004. He continued his painting secretly whilst imprisoned, using white cotton prison uniforms amongst other things, and bribed guards to smuggle in paints.
