The tapered ovoid body rising from a splayed foot to a flared neck, set to one side with a gilt-bronze openwork dragon-form handle opposite a curved spout issuing from the mouth of a long-snouted makara, the stepped, domed cover surmounted by a bud-form finial,

21cm long, 22.5cm high

c.f. A comparable ewer is housed in the collection of the British Museum, acc. no. 1924,0620.1. A similar ewer, formed of copper and brass, was offered at Christie's South Kensington, 13th December 2001, lot 389.
