SEVEN OCTAGONAL BRASS PANDAN LIDDED BOXES, Indonesian Archipelago, South-East Asia, 19th century, all of typical octagonal shape with flat bases and hinged lids, of the seven four with stepped lids and three with engraved decoration consisting of various floral and vegetal sprays on cross-hatched ground and ring-punched borders, the largest 14.5cm x 8cm and the smallest 11.5cm x 6.2cm.

Provenance: Purchased by current owner when he was based in Indonesia (1976 - 1981).
