Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the horizontal composition depicting a group of Indian musicians playing traditional instruments like large trumpets, a horn, and large drums, being approached by two half-clad courtly figures wearing tall pointy headdresses and long shawls, both holding a mallet similar to polo players, the scene set within black and white rules, and brick-red borders, the recto plain, 25.4cm x 31cm.
Provenance: in a private UK collection since the late 1970s.
