Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition portraying a Sikh warrior wearing a dark blue top and high turban, both enhanced in gold, carrying on his left shoulder a gold-inlaid bow and in the right hand a gold-inlaid arrow, around his wrists the typical Sikh bracelets (jangi kara), depicted on a balcony of a white marble palace, in front of him a gold-embroidered orange textile covering the banister, the scene set within black and gold rules, and gold-decorated dark blue and bright red borders, mounted, glazed and framed, 23.5cm x 16.5cm, 40.5cm x 33cm including the frame.
