Le trophée d’armes heraldiques, ou la science du blason…, second edition, small woodcut Royal device on title, title slightly trimmed at foot, engraved frontispiece signed Fra Bignon 1649 (A1) bound after A3, chipped and reimargined, 31 plates of arms and crests on 16 leaves, light age yellowing, minor spotting and staining, ownership note to title, slightly later vellum boards, stained, new endpapers,[ Barbier IV -856 Saffroy I -2152], 4to, Nicolas & Iean de la Coste, Paris, 1655.
*** Jean Royer de Prade was a heraldic historian, best known for his 'Discours du tabac' (1677) and was close friends with Savinien Cyrano de Bergerac. The 'Trophee d'armes' had four editions (1650, 1655, 1659, 1672)
