Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition depicting Krishna and Radha in a palatial courtyard with an attendant, the yellow-clad blue-skinned god holding a stick similar to a polo mallet, caught in the action of walking away leaving Radha behind, the female protagonist covering her face with the shawl with a coy, almost ashamed gesture, next to her a spilt drinking cup, possibly a hint to a moment of intoxication and leisure, the attendant in the marble pavilion looking at Radha and gesticulating in a comforting, friendly manner, the scene set within white rules and several concentric borders, including red with light blue flowers, blue, and bright red, mounted, glazed and framed, 40cm x 30.5cm including the frame.
